Join a day tour to explore the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, an impressive Roman burial site hewn into the rock in three levels, located 100 feet below the surface. These catacombs were created in the late first and early second centuries A.D.
Next, head to the Pompey Pillar, a towering granite structure that rises 27 meters high. Built in 297 A.D. to commemorate the Roman emperor Diocletian, this pillar is an important historical site.
Continue your exploration to the Al Anfushi Tombs, situated directly across from the entrance of Ras el Tin Palace. This location contains five tombs, two of which are especially significant. Unearthed in 1901, these tombs date back to the Ptolemaic era, around 300 B.C.
Visit the archaeological site of Mustafa Kamel, where you can find four tombs from the Ptolemaic period, dating back to the second century B.C. This cemetery, carved into the underlying rock, stands out for its unique engravings, architectural design, and relatively well-preserved state.
